I changed the forum around last year to make it possible to add as much information as possible in an easy to find way. At the moment the implementation is far from finished so I haven't really started adding the information. You will soon find information not only about casinos, but also companies and portals and the people who own them. You are able to add any information you know. The problem is that the implementation isn't available elsewhere in the way I want and is being written from scratch which will take some time. It is already functional but not user-friendly at the moment (please PM me if you need help in adding historical information - especially if you have information about anyone or anything related to online gambling that isn't easily found).

Things that will soon be available:

You can suggest more appropriate forums for any newsfeed posting and it will be moved there and you will receive Credits (removed if moved again by admin).

You will be able to easily link newsfeeds and other posts to entities and get Credits for it. Commonly a message post is about more than one thing and they can therefore be linked to more than one entity in the forum (eg. a casino company may release a game and the news about it can be linked to both the company topic and game topic)

You will be able to quickly find all the entities using drop down menus that go straight to the correct forum and topic. The first post in the topics currently only contain the name of the entity but this will soon show much more information from the database.

All external links in posts will be cached. This is important because many links stop working after a while for many reasons and the information is lost. A simple text version of all links will be stored and easily viewable (a cache button near the iframe for external links will show the cached version and create it if necessary).

A complaints system will be added similar to the way reviews are done now. This can show all complaints about a casino including past complaints that have not been resolved. Once they are resolved, they can be marked as such by the complainant or admin. The review system will also slightly change so that you can add different reviews for different periods of time played.

The directories and other parts of the site also need work but this should all be done within months

There has been a wiki on the site for a while (mediawiki) which I was going to use for adding rough information about topics. I've decided to let it be accessible to all the forum members (you will see links to view/edit the wiki pages on the entity topics). You don't need to worry how it's presented as it can easily be edited.

Since the method to add history and update the databases is still quite complicated, you are free to add information to their wiki pages instead. It will be useful later when adding the information to the databases and forum as history. You need to be a member of the forum to access the wiki (you need to be logged in to even view the wiki pages).

If you are logged into the forum, then you will not need to provide a password for logging into the wiki, just provide your username. The username you enter has to exactly match your forum username (it is case-sensitive). If you are not logged into the forum, you will need to enter your forum password too and not just your username.

A direct link to the wiki pages is this: http://www.faircasinos.com/forum/wiki/index.php5?title= (add the topic you want to write about on the end of the URL)

eg. http://www.faircasinos.com/forum/wiki/index.php5?title=eCOGRA (about eCOGRA)

The wiki is now available to unregistered users as with the rest of the site although you need to enter a CAPTCHA code to stop bot spam to enter any information (the same as the forum).

The new URLs are shorter so eg. you can go straight to eCOGRA with this link: http://www.faircasinos.com/wiki/eCOGRA

Note that the pages are currently case sensitive (except for the first letter).

You can now link topics together that have common entities. There are loads of Credits for doing it. It's a lot of work to get it all done, though. It's mainly so you can link Newsfeed posts to the actual entities the news is talking about. I haven't seen any other forums with this feature at all so it's probably another first.

I fixed a few things to stop it crashing some browsers (including IE 7). Sorry if that happened to you.

A lot of work still needs to be done on the site this year. It wasn't finished last year, as I planned. The database structures are much better than before but they are unfinished. You won't be able to create fields for them any more. I don't see the point of marketing the site while it's unfinished.

There is also something else I've had up my sleeve for the last ten months or so which I need to get around to completing but it won't be made public for a while. It may be better to just make the results public so could take a while. It is basically about finding out which casinos have sold our private information onto third parties (possibly when the casinos themselves fail).
